Winded Samthraki Vertical Water International Canyoning Meeting 2025

                                                                              

The island of Samothrace, a Greek island located in the Aegean Sea, will host the third international canyoning meeting, scheduled from May 31st to June 7th 2025.
“Winged Samothraki” is organized by the Vertical Water team, an amateur sports association, and includes eight days of Canyoning, but not only!

As usual, our gathering in Samothrace maintains its wild spirit. Leave your comforts at home and prepare yourself for an authentic experience, immersed in the wild and uncontaminated nature of the island. Between hidden paths, crystal clear waters and ancient ruins, you will rediscover the pleasure of a slow and authentic journey.

This island is made up of wonderful mountains, in which beautiful canyons carved into granite outcrops are hidden, and offers the possibility of discovering fantastic landscapes even to those who do not practice canyoning and simply want to go trekking or swim in the pools of the streams.

WHERE AND WHEN

The event will take place from Saturday 31 May to Saturday 7 June 2025 on the island of Samothrace, a Greek island located in the northern Aegean Sea, northeast of the island of Lemnos, approximately 40 km from the coast of Thrace and a few kilometres from the border with Turkey.

The meeting point is at Camping Varades, where campers and vans can be parked or tents can be placed and where the secretariat will be located and the scheduled evening activities will take place.

To reach the meeting area we recommend landing at Thessaloniki International Airport. There you can rent a car, a 4×4 or a high car is recommended, and then reach Alexandroupolis where you can take the ferry to Samothrace.

End meeting

During the meeting, photography contests will be active:

• your best shots from past expeditions
• your best shots of the Samothrace canyons

whose awards will be given at the end of the final dinner.

Raffle prizes will be awarded to those present only.

REGISTRATION AND RATES

To facilitate the organization of the meeting, registration is divided into cost brackets that increase as the start date of the meeting approaches: those who register first spend less and help the organizational staff to offer a better service.

First period: from January 15th to February 28th

• canyoneer: € 60
• VW partner: € 40
• no canyoneer: € 25

Second period: from March 1st to April 30th

• canyoneer: € 70
• VW partner: € 55
• no canyoneer: € 25

Third period: from May 1st to May 25th

• canyoneer: € 80
• VW partner: € 70
• no canyoneer: € 25

The registration fee includes: 

• Access to the meeting area
• Insurance
• Participation in all activities organized for the event
• “Winded Samothraki” booklet with description of the meeting canyons (non per accompagnatori)
• T-shirt dedicated to the 2025 meeting
• Meeting bracelet
• Gadget

the t-shirt and the booklet are guaranteed to those who register by May 1st, and will be delivered to subsequent ones until the size or stock runs out.

To register for the meeting, you must fill out the online form and pay the fee within 3 days of registration by sending an email with receipt of payment to the address: events@verticalwatercanyoning.com.  
We remind you that registration takes place by sending the form and with the payment. The date of the bank transfer will be used to determine the price bracket. If payment is not made within three days, the registration will be cancelled. Payment must be made by bank transfer and in the reason for payment indicate: “Meeting 2025”, your name and surname, and, in the case of payment for more than one person, the list of names and surnames.

ACCOMMODATION

We will be guests of Camping Varades. The cost of camping is excluded from the registration fee.
Alternatively, for less “wild” accommodation, we recommend contacting and booking the hotel facilities in the nearby town of Therma.
